Wireless Broadband FAQs

Will my Wireless Broadband work during a power outage?

No. Wireless Broadband and wireless phone line services (including emergency services such a 111) will not work during a power outage.

We suggest having a mobile phone that is fully charged on hand at all times. We highly recommend using a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) which will keep both your broadband and landline services operating during a power outage.

Can I still use a landline?

Yes. A wireless phone line is an optional add-on to our Wireless Broadband plans.

To make a call you will need to dial the area code before dialing the phone number (e.g. 09, 07, 03 etc.). A delay of up to 10 seconds may take place before ringing begins. You can reduce this by pressing * when you dial out.

Am I able to use my current home phone with a Wireless Landline?

Yes. Your current home phone will operate as usual when it is plugged into the modem. However, phones connected via jackpoints in different rooms, will not be able to operate.

If you need to use several phones, we suggest using a cordless phone with several handsets. Your cordless phone's the base station will still need to be connected to power.
